Jacob Brent
Jacob is a performer, director/ choreographer, and a professor of musical theater. Jacob is best known for his portrayal of Mr. Mistoffelees in the Broadway, London and Video productions of Cats. He is the only performer to have appeared in all three and the only actor to perform in both of the record-breaking performances of the longest running Broadway and West End show. He also had the privilege of working with Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber while in the original cast of Starlight Express in Las Vegas. As a director and choreographer his work can be seen Off Broadway, regionally and in summer theaters across the country. Jacob holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts and Dance and a M.F.A. in Musical Theatre from San Diego State University.
Courtney Liu
Courtney Liu is an Assistant Professor of Music Theatre and Director-Choreographer at Elon University. She has performed with the Broadway cast of the Phantom of the Opera (Ensemble, Meg u/s, Assistant Dance Captain), Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake, the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, Queen of the Night, AEA & Disney Developmental labs, the Broadway Dance Lab, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Busch Gardens Theme Parks, the Cincinnati Ballet, and the Peridance Contemporary Dance Company. Courtney has taught dance for 20 year, published her research in the Journal of Dance Education, and presented at national and international conferences. Recent choreography credits include The Forestburgh Playhouse, Timber Lake Playhouse, Playmakers SYC, and the American Dance Festival in collaboration with the Nasher Museum. Prior to working as a dancer and choreographer, Courtney served as a Research Project Manager for an NIH-funded study examining the effects of Aprepitant on heroin addiction and withdrawal at NYU Langone/Bellevue Hospital. Courtney received her BA and MFA from Duke University.

Mya Brown
Mya Brown (Intimacy Choreographer) is an Associate Professor of Acting and Directing at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is a proud member of the Actors Equity Association and the Stage Directors & Choreographers Society. She serves as Guiding Faculty for Theatrical Intimacy Education, one of the nation’s leading organizations in theatrical intimacy best practices. Professional acting credits include North Carolina Black Repertory Co, NuBlack Arts West Theatre, Atlantic Beach Theatre, West Virginia Public Theatre, Triad Stage, Common Thread Theatre Collective, The Barn Dinner Theatre, and RhinoLeap. Mya holds a BFA in Acting from Jacksonville University and an MFA in Acting from West Virginia University.
Haidee Dollak
Haidee Dollak grew up in a home surrounded by classical music. Her formative years were spent practicing Clementi sonatinas while her peers developed social skills. She went on to get a degree in choral music education from UNC-Greensboro, and then, to her mother’s horror, she started playing show tunes. She has been an accompanist for Elon University since 2001, playing for musicals, voice lessons, and classes. She has accompanied singers in masterclasses with Adam Guettel, Jason Robert Brown, Andrew Lippa, Andréa Burns, Quentin Darrington, Julia Murney, Norm Lewis, and Kristin Chenoweth, among others.
Kayla Higbee
Kayla Higbee (she/her) is an Assistant Professor in Theatrical Design and Technology. She has a BA in English from Centre College and an MFA in Production Design & Technology from Ohio University. Professionally, she has worked with Berkshire Theatre Group as wardrobe supervisor and Texas Shakespeare Festival as assistant costume designer. She was also resident costume designer and costume shop supervisor at Centre College for four years. At Elon, she is part of the Performing Arts Inclusivity Committee and serves as an Elon College Fellows mentor for multiple disciplines in Theatrical Design & Technology.
Jessica Hightower
Jessica Lynn Hightower has worked as a scenic designer & scenic fabricator in various venues across the U.S.. Recent designs include Little Women, The Seagull, and People, Places & Things. She has received two Kennedy Center national awards for her projection design work on The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, a national award for the ASTC-USITT Venue Renovation Challenge, and multiple regional awards in both scenic and media design from Southwest USITT, USITT Ohio-Valley, and KCACTF Region 6. Tyson Miller
Tyson is thrilled to be joining Elon University for his debut lighting design. His work spans many disciplines including music, theatre, dance, and museum installations. Clients include Jim Brickman Music, Arlekin Players Theatre, the Joanne Langione Dance Center, the Edward Kennedy Institute for the US Senate, and the Winnipesaukee Playhouse. Internationally he has worked with Rakvere Teater (Estonia), White Rabbit Creative Agency (Dubai/ Egypt), and Sadlers Wells Theatre (London). Tyson holds a BFA in International Theatre Production from Ohio Northern University and an MA in Light in Performance from Rose Bruford College, London. Michael is an Associate Professor in the Theatrical Design and Technology program at Elon University. Michael has been designing in theatre for over 20 years, designing in professional, academic, regional and community theatre across the county. Carrington Black (Joanne) Carrington is so excited to make her Mcrary debut with a show she holds very near and dear to her heart, and alongside her favorite people! Colette Booth is a first-year Theatrical Design & Technology and Biochemistry double major from Wisconsin. Mitchell is so excited to be appearing as Gordon in Rent! A sophomore double major of Music Theatre and Computer Science, Mitchell has previously appeared as Andrey/Bolkonsky in Great Comet and Man in Chair in Renegade’s production The Drowsy Chaperone. Micah Cabot
Micah Cabot, a sophomore Music Theatre student, is beyond excited to be part of this production. Rock music has always sparked his interest, so getting to sing through this beast of a score is truly a blessing. Noah Clark is a freshman from Lakeville, Minnesota, and is excited to make his Elon Music Theatre debut in Collage! Mikyra Elston is a first-year Acting BFA student from Cleveland, Ohio! She started acting in high school by acting in her school’s musicals, playing roles like Persephone in Hadestown, and playing various roles in local community theatres. Andrew France
Andrew is a senior BFA Music Theatre major and is thrilled to be performing in his final show at Elon! His past Elon credits include Moritz in Spring Awakening, Tyler/Ensemble in Merrily We Roll Along, and Sisyphus in Myths and Hymns. Andrew is also a musician and released his debut album, Better Off Gone, last year. Most recently, two of his short screenplays have been filmed and are now in post-production. Alex McLemore is a sophomore Music Theatre major at Elon University. Most recently at Elon, Alex appeared in Merrily We Roll Along as Terry/Mr Spencer. This past summer Alex worked at Harmony Dinner Theater, where he was in the ensemble as well as the male principal swing. Other stage credits include Moritz in Spring Awakening, Pippin in Pippin, and Laurie in Little Women. Helena Padial is a Senior Music Theatre BFA student. She is also pursuing a minor in Psychology and undergraduate research for the Elon College Fellows program. Samantha has had a blast being part of deck crew in Elon’s last two productions! As a first-year music theatre student and Vocal Scholar, she is loving her classes and rehearsals, especially with her a cappella group the Shirley Tempos. She has recently played Anna in Frozen, Rusty in Footloose, and received the award for “best leading actor in a female dramatic role” at the JRay awards for her performance as Alice Murphy in Bright Star! Jonathan Larson
Jonathan Larson received the 1996 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for RENT. He also won the 1996 Tony Award for Best Musical and the 1994 Richard Rodgers Award for RENT and twice received The Gilman & Gonzales-Falla Theatre Foundation’s Comendation Award. In 1989 he was granted the Stephen Sondheim Award from American Music Theatre Festival, where he contributed to the musical “Sitting on the Edge of the Future”. In 1988 he won the Richard Rodgers Development Grant for his rock musical Superbia, which was staged at Playwrights Horizon. He composed the score for the musical J.P. Morgan Saves the Nation, which was presented by En Garde Arts in 1995. Mr. Larson performed his rock monologue tick, tick… BOOM! at Second Stage Theatre, The Village Gate and New York Theatre Workshop. In addition to scoring and song writing for “Sesame Street”, he created music for a number fo children’s book-cassettes, including Steven Spielberg’s “An American Tail” and “Land Before Time”. Other film scores include work for Rolling Stones magazine publisher Jann Wenner. He conceived, directed and wrote four original songs for “Away We Go!”, a musical video for children. RENT, his rock opera based on “La Boheme”, had its world premiere on February 13, 1996 at New York Theatre Workshop. Mr. Larson died unexpectedly of an aortic aneurysm on January 25, 1996, ten days before his 36th birthday. His music (including songs cut from his shows) is archived in the Library of Congress.
