Unboxed: The Fall Dance Concert invites audiences into the intimate Roberts Studio Theatre for a journey of exploration, outside-of-the-box thinking, and transformation. This 75-minute program unfolds around the theme of unboxing, with each work peeling back layers to reveal new insights into identity, growth, space, and discovery. As the evening unfolds, the stage becomes a space where personal and collective experiences are examined, inviting viewers to see the dance in fresh, surprising ways. Guided by the artistry of faculty, student, and guest choreographers, Unboxed showcases a rich diversity of perspectives in movement and storytelling. Each choreographer contributes a unique approach to designing the space, ranging from introspective reflection to inventive ways of examining humanity, creating an atmosphere that encourages audiences to delve into the nuances of contemporary dance. Through this collection of distinct voices, Unboxed celebrates the power of dance to reveal new possibilities within ourselves and our world.

In an age where self-image is often shaped through fleeting screens and social media filters, Pixel Perfect explores the complex process of self-discovery amid external expectations. This project features an integration of dance and augmented reality, a technology that overlays digital content onto the real world. The viewers are invited to watch the dance through their phone to witnesses a series of layered identities projected onto the dancer, mirroring the endless personas crafted for validation online. Text for this work was developed in collaboration with ChatGPT.

Renay Aumiller
Renay Aumiller has presented her choreography at festivals across the United States, Sweden, United Kingdom, Canada, Pakistan, Serbia, Taiwan, and Italy as the artistic director/founder of RAD | Renay Aumiller Dances. She received over 20 grants, scholarships, and awards for her choreography projects and is a published scholar in the areas of dance education and undergraduate mentorship in the performing arts. Renay has been invited to present her scholarship on dance education at national and international conferences. She is an Associate Professor of Dance at Elon University, a Franklin Method Educator, and a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200).
Alyah Baker
Alyah Baker is an Assistant Professors at UNC Charlotte and performer working at the intersections of art and embodied activism. She holds an MFA in Dance and a B.A. in Sociology from Duke University. Baker is the founder of AB Contemporary Dance, a project-based company, and Ballet for Black and Brown Bodies, an education and advocacy platform promoting culturally relevant ballet training. Her choreography has been commissioned by American Dance Festival, Queering Dance Festival, and Oakland Ballet, among others. Baker’s research and choreography has been recognized in local and national media, including Dance Teacher Magazine and the New York Times.
Pheriby Bryan
Pheriby Bryan is a senior at Elon University and a North Carolina native. She is getting her BFA in Dance and Choreography with minors in Spanish and Business. She grew up at Jami Masters School of Dance in Charlotte, NC, and has performed at Elon University, The Alvin Ailey School, Ash and Elm Dance Company, Central Piedmont Community College’s summer musicals, Florence Dance Center, and American Dance Festival’s Footprints where she danced for Abdel R. Salaam. She has recently completed The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Summer Intensive. This past school year, Pheriby presented her directing and choreography debut entitled Semicolon thanks to the Rhodes Research Grant.
Brooke Goldstein
Brooke Goldstein, from Rockland County, New York, is a double major in Dance Performance and Choreography and Sociology. Brooke has performed in Dancing in the Landscape, Fall Dance Concert, Black History Month Dance Concert, Spring Dance Concert, and several student works. Brooke completed the CREATE choreography program at Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and performed at the Florence Dance Festival while abroad in Italy this summer. Brooke is working on an undergraduate research project to promote healthy body image and mental health in dancers. Brooke is excited and honored to share her choreography and dancing in this year’s Fall Dance Concert.
Jiwon Ha
Jiwon Ha, born and raised in Busan, South Korea, is a dancer, educator, and choreographer with expertise in contemporary and modern techniques, ballet, and Korean folk dance. Her passion for dance has driven her to perform, teach, choreograph, and organize events across the U.S., Canada, and South Korea for over 20 years. Jiwon has been a recipient of the ACGG grant, an Artist in Residence with the North Carolina Dance Festival, and her work has been featured in numerous festivals in North Carolina and abroad.
Hannah Harris
Hannah attends Elon University and is getting her BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography, along with a degree in Cinema Arts and Television. She enjoys sharing her art of storytelling through choreography and began her choreographic journey as a freshman in high school at Weaver Academy where she trained in various dance styles, including jazz, hip hop, modern, tap, ballet, musical theater, and others. This has contributed to her passion for teaching and currently leads classes for children ages 3-18 at Burlington Dance Center in North Carolina. Not only does she share a passion for teaching but loves to continue her education in dance throughout the performing arts community.

Sol Addison
Sol Addison is delighted to be a part of Alyah Baker’s guest choreography in his third Elon Performing Arts production! Sol is from Washington DC and in his senior year. He previously danced with the Maryland Youth Ballet for ten years before coming to Elon. Sol is a member of DanceWorks and is heavily involved with dance opportunities at Elon. Last year, Sol presented his choreographic debut at Elon’s Queer Arts Festival 2024 “Breakthrough”. Past credits include Spring Dance Concert: Bridging, Spring Dance Concert 2023, and Masque (Queer Arts Festival 2023 “Luminosity”).
Anaya Agard
Anaya is a third-year Dance Performance & Choreography and Arts Administration double major from Norwalk, CT. She has trained in ballet and modern since she was five years old and is loving all the new dance styles and movements she has been learning in Elon’s dance program thus far. This year, she will be performing in Dancing in the Landscape, the Fall Dance Concert, and the Spring Dance Concert. She is so excited to share her love for dance with you!!

Lucy Burk is a sophomore Dance Performance and Choreography and Arts Administration Major at Elon University. Originally from Indianapolis, Lucy attended Culver Academies where she received honors is dance. During her time at Elon, she has been in Dancing in the Landscape and Spring Dance Concert. She has also performed in the Rhodes Research Concert. Lucy is excited to perform in this year’s Fall Dance Concert!!
Angelina DeMartino
Angelina DeMartino is a junior from Holland, Massachusetts pursuing a double major in Dance Performance and Choreography and Dance Science and a minor in Psychology. This year, she will be performing in three works in the Fall Dance Concert and two works in the Spring Dance Concert. Angelina is immensely grateful to be a part of the Elon Performing Arts community and is so excited to be a part of these performances!
Natalie Dixon
Natalie Dixon is a junior double major in Dance Performance & Choreography and Dance Science from Annapolis, Maryland. She has recently performed in Dancing in the Landscape and is excited to be performing in the upcoming Spring Dance Concert. Natalie is excited and honored to be a part of this performance!
Noelle Drummonds
Noelle Drummonds is a sophomore from Rogers, Arkansas where she performed and choreographed at Arkansas Public Theatre. She is a double major in Dance Performance & Choreography and International Global Studies with minors in German and Political Science. She has performed in the dance department’s Spring Dance Concert and Dancing in the Landscape and Renegade Productions’ Pippin. Last spring, she worked with professor Casey Avaunt in Tobacco Road’s In Concert 2024 site-specific production in Raleigh, North Carolina. Around campus, she’s an admissions tour guide, global ambassador, member of Model UN, and will speak German with you any chance she gets.
Evelyn Ealey
Evelyn Ealey is from Charlotte, North Carolina and is a current junior double majoring in Dance Performance & Choreography and Strategic Communications at Elon University. In addition to her training at Elon, she has attended summer dance intensives at Giordano Dance Chicago, University of North Carolina School of the Arts and the Radio City Rockettes. While at Elon, she has been featured in the productions of Dancing in the Landscape, Fall Dance Concert, Spring Dance Concert and Black History Month Concert. She is eager to be involved in another departmental production of Elon Dance’s Fall Dance Concert.
Hannah Furey
Hannah Furey is a junior from Sturbridge, Massachusetts, pursuing a double major in Dance Performance & Choreography and Public Health Studies. She began her dance training in competitive and concert settings, exploring a variety of styles. Since arriving at Elon, Hannah has performed in numerous works by both faculty and guest artists from across the country. This year, she will perform in the fall and spring dance concerts, excited to continue developing her artistic and academic skills. Hannah looks forward to expanding her experience and furthering her growth as both a dancer and a scholar throughout the year.

Winell Henriquez
Winell Henriquez is a sophomore from Clayton, NC. She is a Dance Performance & Choreography major and is in the 3+1 Accelerated Dual Degree Program for Accounting. Last year, Winell performed in Dancing in the Landscape, Black History Month Dance Concert, and the Spring Dance Concert. This summer, Winell attended American Dance Festival and performed in the Repertory Showcase in a piece by Jordan Lloyd in collaboration with her peers. She is very excited to perform in her first Fall Dance Concert.
Anna Iglesias
Anna Iglesias is a senior at Elon University majoring in Dance Science with a minor in Psychology. She is originally from Tampa, Florida, and grew up dancing at her home studio All American Dance Factory and Classical Ballet School. Anna has been a part of several performances at Elon University such as Dancing in the Landscape, Fall Dance Concert, Spring Dance Concert, DanceWorks, and some student research productions. She is planning to start her Doctor of Physical Therapy in January 2025 at Elon University.
Mia Johnson
Mia Johnson is a Senior BFA dance performance and choreography major with a minor in sports management. She is from Atlanta, Georgia, and trained with Georgia Dance Conservatory while being a company member of Georgia Metro Dance Theatre. Her roles there included Clara, Spanish lead, and Sugar Plum Fairy in the yearly production of The Nutcracker, along with being cast in Swan Lake and Coppelia. At Elon, she has been a part of the Fall Dance Concert, Black History Month, and the Spring Dance Concert. Mia has loved her time in this department and has experienced many performance opportunities.
Maddie Milner
In her second year at Elon, Maddie is a Dance Science and Psychology major with a Neuroscience minor, as well as a College Fellow. Originally based in Dallas, TX, she enjoys drawing, gaming, and research dives! She looks forward to performing in both Fall Dance Concert and Spring Dance Concert this year.
Emma Morris
Emma Morris is a native of Lexington, Kentucky currently pursuing two degrees in Dance Performance & Choreography and Dance Science at Elon University. She has trained and performed in many performances at Elon University for choreographers such as Keshia Wall, Michelle Gibson and Elijah Motley. Emma presented site-specific choreography at Elon University’s Dancing in The Landscape in 2023. She recently studied dance abroad for 4 months in Florence, Italy in 2024 where she had the opportunity to perform the choreography of Angelo Egarese and Niccolò Poggini. Emma has also had the opportunity to perform under Jiwon Ha for her Project Roots.
Aleah Newman
Aleah Newman is a junior dance performance and choreography major from Chicago, Illinois. She has been dancing for many years with her local studio in various styles. She has been in multiple Elon Dance shows throughout her time at here including Dancing in the Landscape, Black History Month Dance Concert, Fall Dance Concert, and Spring Dance Concert. She is excited to be this year’s fall dance show, Unboxed.
Gia Nguyen
Gia Nguyen is a Senior Dance and Sociology major at Elon University, hailing from Collegeville, PA. Gia Began her dance training in competition settings through various styles. She has had the privilege of performing many shows here at Elon, learning and working with faculty from all over the nation. She has also had the honor of showcasing her own choreography in the Fall Dance Concert last year. Most recently, Gia studied abroad in Florence, Italy this past spring where she was able to perform and learn from amazing Italian dance teachers. She is excited to be in another Elon production to kick start her final year.
Katey O’Connell
Katey O’Connell, a native of Bedford, New Hampshire, is a senior BFA Dance Performance and Choreography and BA History double major and is feeling bittersweet as she enters her last Fall Dance Concert at Elon University. While at Elon she has had the opportunity to perform in Dancing in the Landscape, Fall Dance Concert, Black History Month Concert, Spring Dance Concert, and abroad in Florence Dance Festival. Outside of Elon she has also worked for the Joffrey Ballet School as an Arts Administration Assistant and cannot wait to see what the future holds.
Meredith Peck
Meredith Leigh Peck, a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, is pursuing dual degrees at Elon University—a BFA in Dance Performance & Choreography and a BS in Dance Science. Her involvement in the department includes performances in the Fall Dance Concert, Spring Dance Concert, and the Black History Month Dance Concert. In the summer of 2024, Peck expanded her artistic horizons through a guest artist residency in Florence, Italy, gaining a global perspective. Her deep passion for choreography is evident in the numerous opportunities she has had to showcase her creative work, highlighting her dedication and evolving expertise.
Sarah Rothacker
Sarah Rothacker is a senior Dance Performance and Choreography (BFA) and Communication Design (BA) double major from Dublin, OH. At the beginning of this year, she was awarded the Outstanding Senior Dance Performance and Choreography Award. While at Elon she has been performed in Dancing in the Landscape, Black History Month Dance Concert, and Spring Dance Concert, along with various student works. She spent last summer in Florence, Italy, performing in the Florence Dance Festival. Sarah presented her choreography in Dancing in the Landscape this semester and cannot wait to perform in her last Fall Dance Concert.
Lilly Sears
Lilly Sears is a Junior at Elon University. She is pursuing a Dance Performance and Choreography major with two minors in Expressive Arts and Psychology. Lilly is from Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, and is so grateful to be a part of the Elon Performing Arts Program. This year she will be participating in Dancing in the Landscape, the Fall Dance Concert, and the Spring Dance Concert.
Myah Shepherd
Myah Shepherd is a sophomore originally from Coral Springs, Florida pursuing a double major in Dance Performance and Choreography and Arts Administration with a minor in Business Administration. Last year she performed in Dancing in the Landscape, Black History Month Dance Concert, Spring Dance Concert, and was part of The Matriarchy: Stories of Womankind in the Rhoades Grant Dance Concert. She is so excited to be a part of this production and hopes you enjoy the show.
Lila Snodgrass
Lila Snodgrass is a junior from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania pursuing a double major in Dance Performance and Choreography as well as Mathematics. This semester, Lila will be choreographing for Dancing in the Landscape and performing in three works in the fall and spring dance concerts. Additionally, as a Lumen Scholar here at Elon, Lila is continuing her research on the intersection between math and dance through knot theory under the mentorship of Dr. Nancy Scherich. Lila is honored and excited to be part of the Fall Dance Concert.
Ella Stewart
Ella Stewart is a sophomore at Elon University pursuing a BFA in Dance Performance & Choreography and BA in English with a Creative Writing concentration. She is from Columbia, South Carolina. Last year at Elon, Ella performed in Dancing in the Landscape, Black History Month Dance Concert, Spring Dance Concert, and the Rhoades Grant Dance Concert. This past summer, Ella attended American Dance Festival and worked with Jordan Lloyd and her peers on a choreography project presented in ADF’s Repertory Showcase. This fall, she is very excited to perform in both Dancing in the Landscape and Fall Dance Concert!

Emma Vanags is a sophomore at Elon University. She is originally from Richmond, Virginia, where she previously trained at J’adore Dance Studio. She is pursuing a double major in Dance Performance and Choreography and Dance Science. She has performed in Elon’s 2023 Dancing in the Landscape and 2024 Spring Dance Concert, along with performing in the Rhodes Grant Dance Concert. She can’t wait to perform in this year’s Fall Dance Concert.

Sophie Verrecchia is a junior from central Pennsylvania, pursuing a psychology degree while minoring in dance and neuroscience. Alydia Wheeler
Alydia Wheeler is a sophomore at Elon University working towards a BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography with a Biology minor. She is from Locust, North Carolina and grew up dancing at Albemarle Academy of Dance. Last year Alydia performed in Dancing in the Landscape, Black History Month Dance Concert, and Spring Dance. This year she is excited to be dancing in Dancing in the Landscape, Fall Dance Concert, and Spring Dance Concert as well as student choreography.

Brianna Boucher recently graduated from Elon University, where she studied Technical Theatre and Arts Administration. R. Mitchell Fore
After university appointments in Arkansas and New York, Mitch spent 26 years on the performing arts faculties at UNC Greensboro, retiring in 2015. A native Virginian, this is the second time he’s come out of retirement, and is enjoying his interactions with student and faculty colleagues at Elon.
Hailey Avari
Hailey Avari is a sophomore from Newtown, Ct. studying Theatrical Design and Technology at Elon. Past productions at Elon include Legally Blonde (Assistant Stage Manager), A Chorus Line (Assistant Stage Manager), and the 2023 Fall Dance Concert (Light Board Operator). This is her first time designing at Elon, but she has worked at Newtown Stage and Company on The Little Mermaid Jr., and Frozen Jr. (lighting designer). She is so grateful for the opportunity to design a dance piece!
Lillian Chen
Lillian is a sophomore from New Jersey with a double major in Theatrical Design & Technology and Arts Administration. Past productions at Elon include Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead (Scenic/Props Coordinator), The Antipodes (Asst. Stage Manager), Abusua – Black History Month Dance Concert (Stage Manager), and the 2024 Spring Dance Concert (Asst. Stage Manager). When she isn’t backstage, you can find her working as a house manager! She is so thankful for the opportunity to light one of the dance pieces featured in this concert and hopes you enjoy the show!
Sophia Walper
Sophia Walper is a senior Theatrical Design and Technology major concentrating in Lighting Design. Their most recent work includes Footloose for Davidson Community Players, Myths and Hymns at Elon, and many previous dance concerts at the University. This year they are thrilled to be working on the Fall Dance Concert for their third and final time, as well as The Great Comet later in the season.
Jasmine Smith
Jasmine Smith is a recent Elon graduate with her BFA in Acting and Minor in Theatrical Design and Technology. Her previous sound credits include: John Proctor is the Villain (Elon University) and The Antipodes (Elon University). She is currently based in Charlotte and happy to be apart of another Elon production.
